Why see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic is a health profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of conditions involving back pain, the joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves and their effects on the function of the nervous system and general health.

People of all ages can benefit from chiropractic treatment. Chiropractors treat not only back pain but can also help with other musculoskeletal disorders such as aches and pains arising from the neck, shoulder problems and leg pain.

How long will chiropractic take to work?

The scientific evidence and guidelines for medical practitioners state that spinal manipulation can help back pain, especially if carried out within the first six weeks. The longer you have been in pain, the longer it may take to improve with treatment. You will be advised of your likely recovery time, and how to minimise the chances of the problem recurring.

Early treatment is important, but chiropractors are also effective at treating long-standing or chronic pain. We can help with everything from postural pain from driving or sitting at a computer to inherited or congenital problems. Come and talk to us if you’d like to find out more.

Lucy Steele BSc, MSc, DC has completed post graduate qualifications, and has a special interest in treatment during and following pregnancy. What can this do for you? Watch this short video for more information.
